nia operates two separate IDVA services in Haringey and Hackney where IDVA’s support women who have been identified as being at high risk of serious harm, including homicide, through domestic violence.
IDVA
IDVAs are independent from all agencies to ensure the best possible support and information is offered to each woman, but because they work with women who have been identified as being at high risk, IDVAs are most effective within a multi-agency framework. The IDVA’s role in all multi-agency settings is to keep the woman’s perspective and safety at the centre of proceedings.
The IDVA services are double quality accredited, holding SafeLives Leading Light status and the Advice Quality Standard for casework with women.

other support
Based in North East London, nia work with women and girls who have experienced domestic and sexual violence. If you are not eligible for our services, there are other organisations who can help you.
Being at nia has opened my eyes to look into myself and reassured myself that I can do more with my life and not allow others to put me down. It is a journey that we all have to take. It will be hard but with my counselling, my support worker and my determination I will get to my rainbow.”
